Cafes around the city are crafting their best plant-based bowl for Vancouver Foodster’s #PlantBasedBowl challenge running from Feb 22-Mar 18. Our submission is a base of spinach and lettuce tossed in a creamy avocado lime dressing, with a side of spiced grilled tempeh by @Tempea, roasted smoky carrot sticks, crowned with crispy blue corn tortilla chips and finished off with sunflower sprouts from @GiddyUpAndGrow. It’s a rainbow of a dish!

Eternal Abundance is hosting a five course Valentine’s prix fixe dinner on Feb 14th. The menu includes raw and cooked food options, as well as a wine pairing option.

Everyone is invited to spend an evening enjoying good company, good conversation, and GREAT food! This year’s Winter Potluck is on Sun, Nov 17 at 7:30pm! Hosted by Emily of This Rawsome Vegan Life and Eternal Abundance, it will also be a book drive benefitting EcoJustice. Emily will bring many of her barely-psed vegan cookbooks available for donation for $5-$20. It’s a great time to stock up on recipes and literature, for yourself or as gifts!
ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW:
– Bring one vegan dish that will serve at least 6 people.
– It’d be great if you could post what dish you’re gonna bring.
– Label the ingredients for people with sensitivities.
– BRING YOUR OWN PLATE AND CUTLERY.
– We will start eating around 7:45.
– You do not have to be vegan to participate! But you do have to be a nice person. NO racism, sexism, ableism, body-shaming, transphobia or homophobia allowed. Ask for people’s pronouns and respect them. ♥

We will be participating in Giving Tuesday again this year in an effort to help The Happy Herd Farm Sanctuary and The Vancouver Humane Society raise funds to help rescued farm animals and help teach people about compassionate living. This Tuesday Nov. 28th, stop by to order our Soup of the Day, and $1 of each soup sold will be donated to this wonderful cause.

This coming Sat, June 10, marks the second year that Vancouver will be participating in the March to Close all Slaughterhouses. If you can, this Saturday, please join in and march and chant in opposition and complete rejection of animal use, abuse and exploitation. It is a family friendly walk starting at the Vancouver Art Gallery. The march starts at 1pm, however the event starts at noon to make time for mingling, picking up t-shirts and making posters. VMTCAS T-shirts are available for purchase at the event, however if you don’t want to buy one please just wear red. On Sun, April 30 we will be shutting down the produce section early at 7:15pm to make room to host a screening of the documentary, “Vancouver Aquarium Uncovered.” If you were outraged by “Blackfish” you’ll want to see this too. You’ll get to see what’s really going on behind the scenes of one of Vancouver’s main attractions.
The documentary starts at 7:45pm and goes till 9pm, with a Q&A with the director afterwards. There’s a $5 entrance fee which includes an organic tea and treat.
