Stevia is a deciduous shrub native to Central and South America. Only a fraction of the dozens of stevia species have the desired sweetness. Stevia is calorie free and zero glycemic and can be used in raw and baked treats, drinks, etc. This unprocessed, pure powdered stevia leaf is fairly traded and direct from a farmers’ coop in Karnataka State in southern India by Gathering Place Trading on Cortes Island, BC. Non-irradiated and from the most recent harvest.
