Winter Potluck and Book Drive with Emily from This Rawsome Vegan Life

Winter Vegan Potluck and Book DriveEveryone is invited to spend an evening enjoying good company, good conversation, and GREAT food! This year’s Winter Potluck is on Sun, Nov 17 at 7:30pm! Hosted by Emily of This Rawsome Vegan Life and Eternal Abundance, it will also be a book drive benefitting EcoJustice. Emily will bring many of her barely-psed vegan cookbooks available for donation for $5-$20. It’s a great time to stock up on recipes and literature, for yourself or as gifts!

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW:
– Bring one vegan dish that will serve at least 6 people.
– It’d be great if you could post what dish you’re gonna bring.
– Label the ingredients for people with sensitivities.
– BRING YOUR OWN PLATE AND CUTLERY.
– We will start eating around 7:45.
– You do not have to be vegan to participate! But you do have to be a nice person. NO racism, sexism, ableism, body-shaming, transphobia or homophobia allowed. Ask for people’s pronouns and respect them. ♥

New Menu Oct 2017With the transition to cooler weather we’re changing up our menu. From October 6 changes will include removing a few raw items (Pad Thai and Zugghetti), adding more options to our Incredi-bowl, a few new smoothies (Iron Hero and Mighty Matcha), Smoothie Bowls, and more.

Pumpkin Pie and PSL

Goodbye Summer and Hello Fall. And pumpkin-everything. We’ve got the oven going to roast a variety of BC squash for our gluten-free Pumpkin Pie, as well as Pumpkin Spice Latte. Both are creamy, well spiced, and sweetened with maple syrup, dates, or coconut sugar.

Organic starter plants have arrived

The first batch of organic starter plants has arrived! We have an assortment of beautiful and productive kale, cabbages, spinach, arugula, and lettuce starter plants that are keen to join your garden. In the coming weeks we’ll receive cauliflower, strawberries (*urban cultivated with organic compost in Alex’s home garden), herbs, tomatoes, zucchini, cucumber, winter squash, and more. All certified organic from Friesen Farms in Langley.

The Hot Chocolate Festival runs Jan 19-Feb 14

We’ve joined forces with 22 other venues for the 7th annual Hot Chocolate Festival from Jan 19-Feb 14! The festival brings together Vancouver’s best chocolatiers, pastry shops, bakeries, cafes, gelato and ice cream makers to make the humble hot chocolate hotter than it has ever been before.
Each venue is offering at least two drink+treat pairings which have been created specifically for the festival. Eternal Abundance is the only cafe to offer entirely vegan, organic, and gluten free (and nut free) entries:
~ Green Silk Kimono: our creamy white chocolate matcha creation paired with a housemade adzuki beanblack sesame shortbread cookie
~ Chaga Hot Chocolate: our house hot chocolate with a base of immune-boosting chaga mushroom. Served with a delectable Coconut Creme Truffle by Zimt Chocolates of North Vancouver
