Organic Nigella Seeds

Description

Nigella sativa is native to south Asia and a member of Buttercup family. Seeds are used as spices in Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine, and are known as nigella, kalonji, black caraway, and fennel flower, and (mistakingly) black cumin, black onion seed, and black sesame (they have no relation to these). Bitter and pungent with hints of black pepper, oregano, and onion, they’re used with curries, vegetables, and pulses. Said by some to be the remedy for ‘everything but death’, the seeds have anti-inflammatory, -bacterial, -fungal, and -cancer properties. Grown in India.
